Last 25 November, and inside the planned activities by the UCA for the XX Autumn Courses in Algeciras 2015-2016, a Round Table with the title “The European Union and Campo de Gibraltar” took place.
The event, moderated by the Associated Professor of Financial and Tax Law of the University of Cadiz, Francisco Manuel Carrasco Gonzalez, counted on the attendance as speakers of Sebastian Diaz Ribes; Emilio Miro, Anti-drug District Attorney of Campo de Gibraltar; and Ana Berta Medina Paris, Economist Lawyer in our professional office Medina Lamadrid Consultants.
Over the ninety minutes, the participants made several exposures on important cases which are taken place in our region, related to the main topic of this session: “The impact of the European Union Law on the Spanish tax regulation. Difficulties in Campo de Gibraltar”.
On her intervention, Ana Berta Medina made an exposure to the attendants about the procedure for the Tax refunds on the Retail Sale of Certain Hydrocarbon (IVMDH), which, by sentence of the European Union Court of Justice, it was found contrary to the Directive on special taxes issued by the Council of Europe.
